A complaint was filed by Social worker Farhat Naqvi, after an unknown person in a car eve-teased and threatened her on Saturday in Bareily.
Naqvi, who works for Union Minister Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi‘s sister, was on her way to Butler Plaza from the family counselling centre in an auto.
Naqvi reported that a man was standing outside the auto-line while she was catching an auto. After Naqvi initially ignored the inappropriate gestures by the man, the man followed her auto to Butler Plaza.
The man followed Naqvi and often tried to bring the car in front of the auto. While she was getting off the auto in Butler Plaza, the man stopped the car in front of her and threatened her.
The man drove away after Naqvi raised her voice to call for help.
According to Farhat, she had received such threats before as well. She also said that she received such threats because certain groups do not want her to work for the upliftment of divorced women.
The police have also searched a number of CCTV cameras, but nothing was captured in them due to lack of light in the area
